Newport Beach DUI Checkpoint

There will be a DUI Checkpoint tonight, September 26th, in the city of Newport Beach. The exact location is not yet known, but it will be within city limits from 8pm to 3am. Newport Beach police report that there have been 186 DUI related crashes in the last three years, and they have resulted in one death and 245 injuries.

These DUI checkpoints help reduce the number of DUIs. The also reduce the number of unsafe drivers on the roadways. By announcing the DUI checkpoints the public is reminded to not drink and drive, which also helps bring down the number of alcohol related crashes.
