Halloween Checkpoints in Los Angeles

There will be several DUI checkpoints this weekend in Los Angeles as revelers celebrate Halloween. With Halloween on a Friday there is potential for unsafe drivers all weekend long. Friday, October 31, there will be a checkpoint at the intersection of Vermont Ave and 5th St from 8pm to 2am. Saturday, November 1, there will be a checkpoint at the Olympic Boulevard and Blaine Street from 8pm to 2am. Finally, on Sunday, November 2, there will be DUI saturation patrol in the Northeast area from 12pm to 8pm.

To avoid getting a DUI this weekend you should be sure to appoint a designated driver, or utilize a taxi. DUI checkpoints have been in place for years and the checkpoints and saturations patrols have proven effective in making the roadways safer. Drunk drivers are removed from the roads and other drivers who have seen the announcements are less likely to receive a DUI. These drivers either do not get behind the wheel, or they are more likely to use a taxi if they have been drinking.
