DUI Checkpoint in Alhambra

There will be a DUI Checkpoint in the city of Alhambra tonight, January 16, 2015. The DUI checkpoint will begin at 7pm and go through 3am tomorrow morning. If you will be traveling near the intersection of S Garfield Ave and W Linda Vista Ave you will probably experience some delays, as that is the intersection where the DUI checkpoint will be taking place. If you happen upon that intersection do not turn around and try to avoid it, there will be police officers throughout the area prepared to track down any driver who tries to turn around and avoid the intersection.

DUI checkpoints are legal in the state of California and they have proven to helpful in the deterrence of drunk drivers. Legally, all checkpoints are required to be public knowledge and most be posted somewhere. These checkpoints, along with increased patrols, have proven to be an excellent tool to remove potentially hazardous drivers from the roadways.
