What happens after I get my DUI/DWI?
Once you have received your DUI/DWI in New Jersey, you’ll receive a motion date, and you’ll find an attorney. If you’re convicted, you’ll get a license suspension. If your breath alcohol content is above a .15 percent, you must have an Ignition Interlock Device for a minimum of 13 months. However, you may be required to have the interlock device for more time, depending on your judge’s orders. The process by which your license will be reinstated will be dictated by your interlock license.
What do I need to bring to my installation?
Once you have scheduled your Ignition Interlock Device (IID) installation appointment with Smart Start, you will need to bring the following to your IID installation appointment:
- Proof of identification with picture
- Vehicle registration
- Current utility bill with your name and address on it
