Once you have scheduled your ignition interlock installation with Smart Start, you will need to bring the following to your ignition interlock installation appointment:
- The vehicle on which you will be installing the Ignition Interlock Device (IID)
- A valid form of photo identification
- Any payment that may be due at the time of installation

How often does my IID need to be serviced?
Every 30 days.
What do I need for removal?
In order to remove your Ignition Interlock Device (IID), you only need to schedule a removal appointment with your nearest Smart Start service center and pay the required removal fee. If you wish to remove your Ignition Interlock Device before you are eligible for license reinstatement, then your time with the ignition interlock may not count towards reinstatement.
What if I have a requirement, but I don’t own a vehicle?
Need to fulfill requirement to regain DL.
Do I need the device on all of my vehicles?
No, you will only need the Ignition Interlock Device installed on the vehicle(s) you will be driving during your requirement.
Where can I go for service? Anywhere, or just within my state?
You must service in Georgia.
What constitutes a violation in my state?

At the service center – credit card only – no cash.
Where do I send a record of my service appointments?
Service center will provide a form to client to bring to DMV.
Does this thing hurt my vehicle?
