Tonight, for those looking to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, there will be increased patrols in Ventura County. No exact DUI Checkpoints have been established but on holidays like Cinco de Mayo, where revelers celebrate with cocktails police are always out in force.

If you will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo with some tacos and tequila make sure you designate a sober driver to get your home safely at the end of the night. If that is not an option you should also consider taking a taxi, or using other driving services like Uber or Lyft.

Driving home after you have been drinking might seem like a viable option but if you are caught drinking and driving you will face a number of consequences. These consequences are not only life changing in a negative way, they are also incredibly expensive.
