Orange County DUI Checkpoints
Memorial Day weekend is upon us, and authorities will begin their efforts to stop and prevent drunk drivers as early as Friday evening. There will be continued efforts through out the weekend as many have an extended weekend with the holiday on Monday.
The city of Tustin will have a DUI checkpoint that begins at 8pm Friday, May 22. The Checkpoint will continue into the early morning hours of Saturday and will be complete at 3am. The exact location of the checkpoint is not currently known, but we will update you if we find out.
Santa Ana will also begin their Memorial Day Checkpoints this evening with a checkpoint starting at 9pm somewhere in the city limits. The checkpoint will continue until 3am Saturday morning. Once again, the exact location is not known but we will keep searching for it.
If you are out in Anaheim tonight watch out for the intersection at Lincoln Ave and Anaheim Blvd. The checkpoint there will begin at 8pm Friday, May 22, and continue through to 3am on Saturday morning.
Tomorrow night, Irvine will have a DUI checkpoint that beings at 8pm and continues through to 2am. We will keep searching for an update on the exact location.
DUI Checkpoints have proven to successfully decrease the number of drunk driving incidences in the state of California. Simply the announcement of a checkpoint has been enough to discourage drunk drivers from getting behind the wheel.
Have a fun and safe Memorial Day weekend, don’t start the summer off with a DUI.
