DUI Checkpoint in Desert Hot Springs
Desert Hot Springs police will hold a DUI and license checkpoint Friday, July 24. The checkpoint will being at 8 PM and stretch into early Saturday morning, ending at 3 AM.
The location is currently undisclosed but the location has been determined as most effective based on drunken driving crash and arrest statistics.
The checkpoint is funded through a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
It is estimated that a DUI will cost you about $10,000, so if you will be drinking in the Desert Hot Springs area you should plan accordingly. Designate a driver or plan to take a taxi and avoid getting a DUI.
